We are looking for passionate people to join us in our work to expand economic opportunity in Rhode Island. BIPOC and women are strongly encouraged to apply. Building Futures offers a competitive benefits package including health care (with vision and dental), 401k match, life insurance, and paid time off. In addition to the two positions highlighted below, Building Futures is hiring an Apprentice Utilization Program (AUP) Director, an AUP coordinator, and Chief of Staff, see all available positions here!

The Outreach, Recruitment, and Leadership Coordinator has two primary goals:

  • Develop a recruitment strategy to go deeper into Rhode Island’s urban core communities for candidates for our construction pre-apprenticeship and Building Green Futures programs
  • Work with alumni from our programs to develop leadership programming and engage alums in outreach & recruitment activities

There is a special focus on recruiting women and on our tradeswomen programming, in addition to broad outreach and recruitment for our programs. The ideal candidate will have strong community relationships in Providence, Central Falls, Pawtucket, and/or Woonsocket and will bring deep knowledge and experience working with our population.

The Program Development and Partnership Manager will have the opportunity to work with employers in high-growth industries across Rhode Island to develop tailored workforce development strategies through new Registered Apprenticeship programs. In just five years, Building Futures has created 42 new Registered Apprenticeships with non-construction employers. This individual will have the opportunity to deepen and broaden this work, launching new programs and supporting employers in existing programs. No deep knowledge of Registered Apprenticeship is required- the ideal candidate will bring a track record of successful program development, possibly from adult education and/or workforce development, and apply it to the proven Registered Apprenticeship model.

There are tremendous economic challenges facing Rhode Islanders and RI employers right now. Working with Building Futures is an opportunity to address those challenges- connecting Rhode Islanders with family-sustaining careers and Rhode Island employers with a workforce development strategy that works.
