What a great way to end the year! Big thanks to Michael Holmes and Dennis Lassige from the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 330 for joining us to help honor the success of apprentice Darrell LaFrance. Darrell was awarded Building Futures’ Alumni Leadership Award for his dedication to learning his craft, to continual self-improvement, and for his early career successes. Darrell graduated Building Futures in 2020 and most recently has been working at Brown University’s Performing Arts Center with Sweeny Drywall. Congrats, Darrell!

Previous years honorees include: Alvin Reyes, 2011 BF200 Graduate, Journeyworker Electrician with IBEW 99; Orlando Correa, 2012 BF200 Graduate, Journeyworker Iron Worker with Local 37; and, Vennicia Kingston, 2011 BF200 Graduate, Journeyworker Laborer with LIUNA 271, small business owner with Eagle Eye Post Construction Services, and chair of the Women’s Caucus of the RI Building and Construction Trades Council.

While we couldn’t have a single event alumni party, it was so great to catch up with graduates throughout the week. We also got a chance to celebrate with 17 new journeyworkers! Big congratulations to everyone. We love staying in touch with alumni! Stop by or give us a call.
